Omar Thomas is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS, MISTT, MSc QS) with over 20 years’ experience delivering cost management, commercial advisory, and contract administration services across the Caribbean. He is the Managing Director of OTA Consulting, a specialist quantity surveying practice established in 2009, providing comprehensive pre-contract and post-contract services for commercial, hospitality, residential, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments.
Omar has extensive experience in cost planning, bills of quantities, tender analysis, value engineering, interim valuations, variation assessment, and final account negotiation under FIDIC, TTIA, and bespoke contract forms. He has a proven track record acting as Employer’s Representative and independent cost consultant on complex, multi-million-dollar projects throughout Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, and Barbados.
He is recognised for a disciplined, traditional quantity surveying approach grounded in sound measurement, benchmarking, and commercial realism, supported by the effective use of technology to improve accuracy and turnaround time.
